As you are probably well aware, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month (although as a woman, personally, I think every month should be...).  What you might not know is that the "HOPE" bracelet, as seen above from the SignatureSterling Artfire shop or below from the SignatureSterling Etsy shop always donates $5.00 from every sale to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.  However, NOW and through October 31st, I will be doubling that donation - $10.00 of each "HOPE" bracelet sale will go directly, in the name of the purchaser, to the Susan G. Komen Foundation (you will receive email confirmation of the donation).

Made with all sterling silver components and Swarovski crystals in shades of pink, the bracelet's message of awareness or celebration of survival is in its central "HOPE" bead and ribbon charm.

Off the Cuff and Off the Hook...Not

As I mentioned in my previous post, we had a big family wedding this weekend (any family wedding on hubby's side will be big since he has nine siblings).  On Friday afternoon, I decided I really didn't have a necklace to wear with my dress so I started to sort through my jewelry supplies and brought a "few" possibilities out to the family room "work table" to play with.

As I was putting the finishing touches on "Smoky Wedding" - love the faceted smoky quartz focal - hubby commented to our son and girlfriend, "It's great that she makes all her own jewelry.  I never have to buy anything."

WHOAAAA!  Stop the train.  What was that????  Oh, yes, believe me, hubby knew what he had said has soon has "buy anything" had left his lips and a quick "Uh, no, not really"  followed almost at the same time as I said, "Oh, rea-a-a-ll-y-y??" giving him a knowing tilt of the head and look over the top of my glasses (I was a high school English teacher in my first life).  "You are so not off the hook, right? And, by the way, I'm wearing this and the bracelet I'm making with the triple-hooped diamond earrings you bought me."

The "Smoky Wedding" necklace (and bracelet) looked wonderful with the dress (as did the earrings), and hubby mentioned several times how great I looked....he also mentioned that I needed some real diamond stud earrings (mine are CZ) very soon.  One of the things I love so much about us - we communicate so well. :)

FRIDAY FAVORITES

The day has almost slipped away before I could post this, but "no worries," plenty of favorites to share FOR SURE today....

• "Hands down"....the #1 favorite is that today is officially the first day of spring! Woo-hoo! Let the sunshine, warm weather, and yes, even the spring rains (within reason!) begin ~ I am MORE than ready this year...

• I am a "collector of quotes" and this is a new favorite that I came across just this morning:

• Some of you may think that my complete wardrobe is comprised of my "Goodwill Hunting" forays :-), but to be honest, I ♥ shopping just like the next "gal!" In fact, one of my "favorite" shops is Coldwater Creek ~ I love to peruse their latest catalogue or surf their site to see what might be new, finding their colors, designs, and textures refreshing and unique. So, when I can find a Coldwater Creek sale + free shipping + my yet-to-be-used gift card from Christmas (Thanks, Hannah! ♥), I can't resist what I think is quite the deal! Here are the "Friday Favorites" that came in the mail today!

• "Spring Blooms" Necklace and Earrings are DONE and ready to be listed (tonight or tomorrow!!) in the Etsy shop. The pink, green, and slight touch of soft golden yellow hues were inspired by the "Tulip Lovers Circles" palette highlighted in last week's "Tickling the Muse" post.
